More than Just a Headshot

  I had a really amazing experience a couple weeks ago... I went to a local nonprofit organization with the "simple" task of "just" taking headshots for some of the staff and board members. But what ended up happening was so much more rewarding!      I had the privilege of showing these amazing specimens of humanity that they are totally capable of rocking a headshot.  Nothing slams us up against our insecurities like getting our photos taken. And headshots are just the worst, because we KNOW that it's just our face! That's it - that's all we have to tell our story here!  But that's where I get to come in with my ninja skills and teach people how to forget how nervous they feel... to remind them that this is about so much more than their face... that my goal is to pull out the genuine expressions they show the world every single day. Baby it's cold outside... and my little monkeys are coming down with colds too! I don't know where Spring is, but in the meantime, I'm making large batches of Ginger Lemon Tea!   My bestie Kirsten taught me how to make it and one thing I love about it is that her Dad taught her... he always used to make it for her and then she made it for me and now I'm hooked! Happy 100th Birthday to Our National Parks!

  So get this. In the interest of full disclosure, I was that girl. The one who pronounced Yosemite "Yo-sem-ight" until my friend from California set me straight. (If you're freaking out because you're also that girl and you still don't know how to pronounce it, it's "Yo-sem-ih-tee" ... you're welcome.) It's okay to laugh at me... life's too short to take myself too seriously ;-)      So anyways, after I knew how to pronounce the name of one of our country's most amazing National Parks, I had the pleasure of experiencing it with my sisters! It was one of the most beautiful trips of my life!  There was also a LOT of hiking involved and I was very out of shape, so it was one of the most challenging trips, too. Singing Canary Drink for Stress and Exhaustion

  As winter comes to a close I wanted to share this awesome drink I've been making to help battle stress and exhaustion.     I feel bad for my girls. Elsa and Anna think I lied to them when I said Upstate NY has tons of snow... they haven't even had enough to really go sledding or build a snowman!
